A Whopping $50,000

The Obama administration authorized a whole $50,000 to go to Italy after the earthquake. I'm guessing Obama just pulled it out of his pocket and directly gave it to them while over there in Europe? What a ditz!

It just piles higher

Financier R. Allen Stanford has been busted for scamming his clients out of eight billion dollars. Guess what political party got the biggest contribution from this guy?

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee received over $500,000 of Stanford's ill-gotten fortune back in 2002. That makes the DSCC, by far, the largest political recipient of Stanford cash.

Matt Lewis of AOL News said, "I'm sorry, but as a political writer, it intrigues me that big-time financial scammers seem to show a pronounced preference for Democrats. Bernie Madoff's political money went almost entirely Democratic, and while Stanford was a little more bipartisan, he did give the DSCC more than five times as much money than he gave to his biggest Republican beneficiary."

Lawrence Summers, a top economic adviser to President Barack Obama, pulled in more than $2.7 million in speaking fees paid by firms at the heart of the financial crisis, including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America Corp. and the now-defunct Lehman Brothers.

Thomas E. Donilon, Obama’s deputy national security adviser, was paid $3.9 million last year by the power law firm O’Melveny & Myers to represent clients, including two firms that received federal bailout funds: Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.

White House Counsel Greg Craig last year earned $1.7 million in private practice representing an exiled Bolivian president, a Panamanian lawmaker wanted by the U.S. government for allegedly murdering a U.S. soldier and a tech billionaire accused of securities fraud and various sensational drug and sex crimes.

Call Hillary and get phone sex

White House reporters were given a phone number to call for a press conference with Hillary Clinton and Jim Jones. What they got was a phone sex hotline.

What they heard was, "Do you have any hidden desires? If you feel like getting nasty, then you came to the right place."

It was claimed that an aide made a mistake. I wonder if this is the same aide that told Hillary that peregruzka meant 'reset' but it really meant 'overcharge.'

Biden does it again. Does the media care?

Joe Biden said in Pikeville, N.C. that their stimulus money was going to build a new fire station when almost all of the money had already been approved under the bush administration. State Sen. David Rouzer, a Republican who represents Pikeville and worked in the Agriculture Department under President Bush, said he helped secure the fire department money last year out of the federal agency's regular programs.

An update to the Ipod

From an ABC News blog, something that was left out in the mainstream press is that the Ipod also had several speeches of the Jesus in Chief on it.

The Great One

Barack Obama met the Queen at Buckingham Palace today and gave her a gift of an iPod loaded with video footage and photographs of her 2007 United States visit to Richmond, Jamestown and Williamsburg in Virginia.

The Queen already has an iPod, a 6GB silver Mini version she bought in 2005 at the suggestion of Prince Andrew.

Richard Wolf of USA Today says that an Obama aide told him the President also gave the Queen a "rare songbook signed by Richard Rogers". END UPDATE
